All of us are aware that the Oscars and some award functions like Golden Globe ended just a few months back and here we have the best actresses of the year 2009. These are the actresses that got the perfect genetic make up to become the contender of the nominations.

Yes, we all know now that the best actress recognized by the Oscar 2009 and the Golden Globe 2009 is Kate Winslet, who got these for her best performances in the movies The Reader and Revolutionary Road respectively. And the list continues with Anne Hathway, Meryl Streep, Kristin Scott Thomas and Angelina Jolie.


Kate Winslet - The 33 year old British star, who was nominated previously for five Oscars and five Golden Globes but never won, got two awards in the Golden Globes this year; One for the best actress in supporting role in the movie “The Reader” and the other for the best actress in leading role in the movie “Revolutionary Road” and also one in Oscars 2009 for the best actress in leading role in the movie “The Reader”. She was not only amazed but also got shocked. The golden gal is the one for whom I am damn confident that she will make the same in the coming years too.




Anne Hathway - The 26 year old actress got best actress award at critic’s choice awards 2009 and was nominated for the best actress award in Oscar 2009 for the movie “Rachel getting married” for the best actress in leading role and also get nominated in Golden Globe 2009 for the same category.




Angelina Jolie - The 34 year old actress got three nominations for the best actress category in the critic’s choice awards, the Golden globe and the Oscars.




Meryl Streep - The 60 year old lady got the best actress award in the category best actress in leading role at the Critic’s choice awards and also got nominations in the Oscars and the Golden Globe awards for the movie “Doubt” as a best actress in leading role.



And the actresses become the best actresses for the year 2009.
