I am fully aware of the fact that everyone has his own favorites and hence in the case of reality shows. But in these top three I mentioned the most viewed shows over the long time span. These are:

1. Survivor - The three most catchy words Outwit, outplay and outlast are supposed to explain the game “Survivor” in a nutshell. and the best three words that can be used to describe this show are manipulative, deceive and fight. It is very excited to watch who will stab whom in the back first.

And we always cheer for “good guys” even though they follow the tactics of lying, cheating, and stealing to win this game and we ignore all about their sins and trash it in the name of a good television. In these seventeen years, this show sets an example of the formula to success that always works. The drama is added to the show by the immunity idols and with additions like Exile Island.

2. The Real World - It was started in 1992 in New York with seven strangers who lived together. It has completed 17 years with still standing as the one of the best ones with 21 seasons. As the time passes , envelopes being pushed, first with an openly gay roommate having HIV(Pedro Zamora), then with an alcoholic (Ruthie Alcaide) and later goes with trio (Steve, Trishelle, and Brynn). Every year it come with new ideas but the typecast of roommates are usually same. Real World gets all credit of making Television and pop culture history.

3. American Idol - the two words “American Idol” hooked up the whole America including both young and old. The coming contestants those believe that they are the greatest singer ever auditioned, the snarky comments by Simon Cowell and the drunkenness of Paula Abdul are the main talents of the show. For which viewers tune to this show week after week and year after year.
