A Great TV Show for the New Year

Are you looking to add a new show to your weekly television line up? If so, then here is a show you may want to check out. “Life Unexpected” explains this new show to the letter. The show, set in Portland Oregon, starts 15 years before when a high school girl gives up her baby for adoption. The girl is sent from one foster family to the next, and finally, when she turns 15, Lux decides to become an emancipated minor.

As she proceeds thought the legal work, it leads her back to her biological parents. Her father, Nate “Baze” Bazile, owns a bar and lives with his two roommates. He seems to have never really grown up from his college days. He is very surprised to find that he has a teenage daughter. Baze reveals to Lux that her mother is in fact Cate Cassidy, who is a radio show host and some what of a local star. Lux has listened to Cate’s radio show for as long as she can remember, so she feels an instant connection with Cate, even thought they’d never met. When Cate finally meets Lux she is thrilled, but saddened to hear that she has been in foster care all her life.

When the judge decides that Lux is not ready for the responsibilities of an adult, he denies her request to be an emancipated minor and temporarily, grants joint custody to Baze and Cate. This is a very unexpected turn for them, and they decide to try to give Lux the family she’s always been looking for, and to make up for lost time. There will be many challenges that they will have to face, and many things they will have to work together on. “Life Unexpected” premieres on the CW on Monday, January 18.
